We helped build the DC Monaco Grand Prix watch party from zero into the city's marquee motorsport event: three years, 300+ VIP guests, and a rooftop that sells out.

The Challenge

In 2024, the Monaco Grand Prix watch party did not exist. DC Motorsport Community had the audience but no signature annual moment, no destination event tied to Monaco weekend in the DMV, and no platform yet positioned for premium brand partnerships.

What We Did

We treated the watch party as a brand to be built, not an event to be staffed. The team led identity, partnership strategy, PR and media, social momentum, and guest-experience design so each year compounded from proof-of-concept to premium rooftop institution.

The Results

  • Built from zero to 300 plus VIP guests in three years
  • Now an annual institution, running every Monaco Grand Prix since 2024
  • Venue escalated from sports pub to Casamara Rooftop, a 3,000 sq ft Dupont Circle destination
  • Ferrari of Washington attached as a sponsor, putting the marque behind the DMV's Monaco moment
  • Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic partnership with a portion of every ticket supporting the foundation
  • Format expanded from a 3-hour screening to a full-day experience with champagne, caviar service, and a DJ-led day party
  • Earned broadcast coverage on FOX 5 DC and DC News Now in the run-up to the event
  • Live art auction supporting Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic

Background

DC Motorsport Community is a grassroots collective founded to celebrate motorsport culture and connect enthusiasts across the DMV, led by founder and CEO Niki Lang.

Lang also brings deep hospitality credentials as a career sommelier and founding partner of Maxwell Park, the DC wine bar named Best Bar in America by Esquire and recognized with the 2019 RAMMY Wine Program of the Year award. That hospitality standard shaped the event direction from the beginning.

The work

We ran this as an integrated brand, partnership, and communications program.

Brand and creative gave the event an identity that held up year over year. Partnership strategy brought in sponsors that raised the event’s altitude. Organic social built anticipation before ticket announcements. PR and media relations earned coverage that made the event a regional story. Event strategy deliberately escalated the guest experience each year so returning guests received something stronger than the prior format.
